Marine Larry Michael Hiber, born in Arland, Barron County, Wisconsin on February 8th, 1939 to Michael Eugene and Suzanne Rae (Schenten) Hiber. He passed away peacefully in Hospice at the VA Medical Center on August 9th, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary L. Hiber, whom he married in 1969. Together they raised two daughters. Larry grew up with two sisters, Joan Jerry and Yvonne Smith; and a brother, Robert Hiber. In his youth he delivered papers in the frigid Wisconsin mornings and occasionally saved his earnings for a large candy bar and bottle of pop at the local store or a screening of an anticipated western shootout. Hobbies included his love for hunting deer and antelope as well as fishing for Northern Pike. He played in a band while living in Minnesota. After graduating from Rice Lake High School he served in the U.S Army from 1959 – 1962. He later served in the U.S Marine Corps 1966 – 1968 and fought in Vietnam. While in the Marine Corps, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
