PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT SINCE 1968...
around 2008 my Spinal Stenosis started to get really bad...
I can't walk to well now but I get long distances with a walker.

I text or talk to Harvey Jordan who was my A Gun team Leader - he lives in Dunedin Florida with his wife Barbara. Harvey and I were tight after we lost 2nd Squad guns to a claymore Jordan was the only one left in it. He came over to my 3rd Squad Guns and we were at Hill 10.

If anyone wants to talk or email with me it's ok... Semper Fi Alpha Company...

Alpha 1/7 V.N. Stories and life experience since:

I came to Alpha company in October 1966. I was crossing the San Tra Bong River in the back of the mail truck. I had not been issued any gear yet - so I had little to do but duck when the truck got hit going towards A company hill from the river. The bullets were hitting all over the bed of the truck and the colored nylon mail bags were getting holes shot through them. We stopped at a small building at the bottom of the company hill. My old buddy Tiny from gun school was on a 60 shooting up at some in-coming. I jumped out of the truck and asked an officer standing in the blown out building if I could use his 45. He said, "Why?" I said, "Because your not using it. The incoming fire was dying down. The LT. looked at me and said, "When you get to Battalion - ask to be put in Alpha Company". I did and I was home.

I wish I could make a reunion but I'm blessed if I make to the dinner table let alone fly somewhere. Walking is getting harder everyday and I'm glad I have Marine Corps Training just to go through old age.
I have to say that some of the very best Men I have ever met - were in Alpha Company 1966 - 1967.. I can't say that about other years but I'm guessing you'all are just as good as our tour..
God Bless all of us.. It was real.. Have a great re-union and many more .

THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT GOES BY THAT I DON'T HAVE A THOUGH OF VIETNAM - IT'S NOT THAT I DON'T HAVE A LIFE - I HAVE A FULL ONE - NOW AT 72 YEARS OLD - I FORGET NAMES BUT NOT FACES - I REMEBER HOW BRAVE THE MARINES WERE IN THOSE DAYS - I CAN'T WATCH ANY ARMY DOCUMENTRYS BECAUSE IT UPSETS ME TO SEE THE BLUNDERS THEY MAKE AND THE SAD WAY THEY FIGHT. WE WERE THERE TO DO A JOB AND MARINES DID REAL DIRTY WORK. OFF DAYS WE LIKED TO FIGHT TOO. GOD BLESS ALPHA COMPANY - THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE.. KEEP THIS SITE UP - GOOD WORK..
