SAD TO SAY... LEDFORD T. "LT" MULLINS CHANGED DUTY STATIONS THIS LAST SATURDAY AUGUST 13 2022.. AT THE AGE OF 74... HE WAS IN 3RD SQUAD GUNS ALPHA COMPANY - AS A GUNNER - HE WAS WOUNDED BY A GRENADE PLACED NEXT TO HIS HEAD ON SEPT 5TH 1967 WHILE ON AN AMBUSH... CPL. TERRY WILLIAMS WAS KIA FROM THE SAME GRENADE... THE CORPSMAN GAVE ME MULLINS DOG TAG AND TOLD ME I HAD LOST TWO MEN.. TERRY AND LT... HE SAID LT WAS KIA.. FOR 40 PLUS YEARS I CARRIED LT'S DOG TAG WITH ME EVERY MEMORIAL DAY.. THEN WHEN I CHECKED THE VIRTUAL WALL.. LT'S NAME WAS MISSING... WE FOUND EACH OTHER AFTER 4 DECADES... WE ENJOYED TALKING TO EACH OTHER FOR MANY YEARS... HE DIED THIS LAST WEEKEND AND LEFT HIS SWEETHEART HELEN AT HOME IN MEANS KY.
LT WILL BE PULLING GUARD DUTY ON THE STREETS OF HEAVEN... HE KNEW AND LOVED HIS LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST...
LT WAS MY FRIEND AND I WILL MISS HIM UNTIL I CROSS OVER TO BE PART OF HIS UNIT IN HEAVEN...PULLING GUARD DUTY WITH HIM... ><>

MEMORIAL DAY 2022 is coming upon us... Every Memorial Day I like to go to the ceremony at the Veteran's grave sites ~ Hold the dog tags that I have from those I lost in my Squad... or of those who were close to me in the war... I also say Hi - see you when God takes me - to those who have died after the war... They get to kick up and watch us on the flat screen in the squad bay...
I will say Hi to Donnie Detmer who was with me through PI 226 Sir and got KIA in Country in the field with another unit... From Alpha Company I will say Salute and Semper Fi to.....
